The Sydney City RTW Forum held their quarterly seminar last month on the 29th August. These Seminars are run in conjunction with GSA Workers Compensation, TurksLegal and Actevate Rehabiliation.
The topic presented was a review of an employers rights and responsibilities when an injured worker is terminated, made redundant or resigns. Sam Kennedy from
TurksLegal provided a thorough overview from a legal perspective and proposed legislative changes.
GSA then provided an overview of how the above scenarios can impact on an employer's premium and what information they should provide their insurer when completing their wage declarations.
The seminar was then finished off with
Actevate providing a practical guide to vocational redeployment when a worker is unable to return back to their normal work following an injury and how to go about transitioning a worker into job seeking mode.
These seminars are continuing to attract large numbers of attendees each quarter as we present topics that are faced by RTW Coordinators every day in their role.
Our next seminar will be held in November and information will be out to all employers shortly with more details of our up and coming seminar.
