In November GSA Workers Compensation and Actevate Rehabilitation launched the first of their Return to Work (RTW) Co-ordinator forums. This was to coincide with the establishment of GSA and Actevate’s new RTW Co-ordinator Interest Group (Sydney City Region).

We were pleased to have Ms Mary Hawkins, Director of Provider Services, WorkCover NSW, and Dr George Papatheodorakis, Occupational Physician, as our keynote speakers at the launch. Mary provided an overview of the upcoming changes that WorkCover is looking to introduce to the scheme and Dr Papatheodorakis provided advice on how to better manage workplace injuries from a medical management perspective.
We will be running quarterly seminars for those wishing to attend and learn more about various aspects of managing injured workers. Please find below our calendar for upcoming dates. Topics will be advised upon request.
These interest groups, which are run in numerous locations around NSW, are designed to offer support and information to professionals working within the Workers Compensation and OH&S arenas. They also provide group members with unique networking opportunities, and direct access to leading experts within workers compensation, OH&S and Occupational Rehabilitation.
Further information about RTW Coordinator groups can be found on the Workcover NSW website (www.workcover.nsw.gov.au) or by contacting Nicole Mellick at GSA or Libi Stone at Actevate Rehabilitation.
