Love. They say it makes you do crazy things, I’m quite sure what I’m doing is not crazy, but love has made me make the biggest decision of my life.
Fourteen months ago, I started a long-distance relationship with someone I met in India. When it began, I had no idea that I would end up moving half way across the world to be with him.
But last month, while saying goodbye at the airport, I promised him I would move to India.
It wasn’t an easy decision for me to make. Not only would it mean leaving my family and friends, it would also mean leaving a job I loved.
I wasn’t sure which would be harder, telling my parents I wanted to go, or telling Tony and Paul I had to resign.
It has been great to have a manager I have learnt so much from, as well as to work with people who enjoy coming to work, and strive for success every day.
Paul has always encouraged me to do more and step outside my comfort zone, so now I am finally doing it, but perhaps not in the way that he expected me to!
It’s daunting for me to be moving to a country so different to where I’ve lived; where I don’t speak the language, despite having Indian parentage. But working at GSA has given me more confidence in myself and I’m ready for the challenge ahead.
